Read Matthew 8:1-4
Leprosy was a disease you had for life. Back in Jesus’ day, if you had it, you were considered unclean and were cast out of society. What did Jesus do for the leper?
Does Jesus care about people who the world thinks are outcasts?
Do you feel like an outcast of the world? If so, how does this encourage you?
If God does not consider anyone as an outcast, then how should you treat others?

DIG DEEPER

Read Luke 19:1-10. Jesus invites a man named Zacchaeus to eat dinner with Him. Zacchaeus was a tax collector, and the Israelites viewed tax collectors as outcasts. Most tax collectors were corrupt, but it doesn’t mean they couldn’t change. The people never would have given Zacchaeus a chance, but Jesus did.

Back in Jesus’ time, wine was more like grape juice and was served at weddings. It would be embarrassing for a family if the wine ran out. What does Jesus do to help?
Who asked Jesus to do it? This was Jesus’ first miracle. The people may not have known what Jesus could do yet, but who knew what He was capable of doing?

What did Jesus do here?
This is important, because soon after this, Jesus was going to die on the cross. He needed to show His followers that He had power over death. Do you believe Jesus has power over death?

Every time Jesus does a miracle in the Bible, He is showing us something about Himself. Jesus turning water to wine was a very important lesson about Himself. The man at the wedding proclaimed that most people serve the best wine at the beginning and then serve the worst at the end. But the wine at the end of the wedding was the best! Of course it was… Jesus made it! Jesus shows us here that He is saving the best for last. Eternity is going to be so much better than life on earth.  Remember this story when life is hard and know that God is saving the best for last. Your life is much more than simply your time on earth.
