God Knows Everything

Day 1 – Read Psalms 139:1-4

God knows everything about you. He knows your thoughts, He knows what you are doing, and He knows what you will do. He, not only knows about you, but He also knows about everybody and everything in the world. There is nothing that surprises God. You don’t have to worry because God knows everything.

Day 2 – Read Psalm 139: 1-4 and write it down

Place it somewhere you will see it every day. Then memorize it!

Day 3Now that you have learned God knows everything, think about how that can help you in these situations. If someone is sick, do you feel better knowing that God knows what is wrong?
When something happens that you didn’t expect, do you feel better knowing that God knew it would happen?
Is there another situation when knowing God is in control brings you comfort?

Day 4Today, when people want to find an answer to something they grab their computer and “Google it.” The Internet is big and has lots of information, but it does not know everything. In fact, everything it says isn’t true. Often, there are some websites that tell you one thing and another website that teaches you something else. When you go to God to find answers, you can trust that He has one answer, and it’s the right one. He knows everything. Google’s got nothing on God!

Day 5God knows everything, and for four months He has been teaching you, through this Bible study, what He knows. What are some of things that you have learned from God while doing this Bible study?

BIGGER & betterHumans spend all of their time researching and finding out why things happen and what makes them happen. God knows it all. He doesn’t have to research or find answers because He knows the answer. Do you know how many hairs are on your head? To find out, you would have to start counting. The Bible tells you in Luke 12:7 that God knows even the craziest details like the number of hairs on your head!

God is Love

Day 1 – Read 1 John 4:7-11

The dictionary could put just one word by its definition of love… God. Any love that you have, it comes from God. We only know about love because God first loves us. He is the example of true love.

Day 2 – Read 1 John 4:7-11

Memorize it. Circle every time the word love is used.

Day 3

Look at the verse that you wrote down yesterday. Today, answer some questions about God’s love.

Where does love come from?
How did God show us His love?
Is loving someone more than just saying it?
Because God loved us, what does He want us to do?

Day 4Have you ever thought about how much we use the word “love?” Put a rubber band around your wrist, and every time you say the word “love” put a mark on the rubber band. At the end of the day, count how many times you said it for any reason. You don’t realize it but you say things like “I love ice cream,” “I love my favorite football team,” “I love those shoes.” When you do catch yourself saying the word “love,” think about if you really mean it. God’s definition of love is sacrificing your life for something or someone you love. Would you really sacrifice your life for that scoop of ice cream or that pair of shoes? The answer hopefully will be “yes” for people who you love such as your family and friends. What if we only used the word love where it really applied? Would it make love more special? Since God is the definition of love, don’t you think it needs to be more special?

DID YOU KNOW…Americans buy 145 million Valentine’s Day cards every year.  People in our country also will spend 1 billion dollars on chocolate for Valentine’s Day. All of that money is spent to tell someone that you love them. Could you imagine what the world would be like if American’s spent that money on showing people they love them by helping them with their needs?

Day 5

Make a list of people you love. Have you shown them you love them lately? Think about how you can show each person on your list love today.

How have you seen God’s love?

God is Merciful

Day 1 – Read Ephesians 2:4

We studied a few weeks ago that grace is getting what you don’t deserve. Mercy is not getting what you do deserve. Do you see the difference? God, through Jesus, gives us eternal life with Him. That is His grace. God, through Jesus, gives us a way to avoid getting what we deserve. We deserve to be separated from God forever. This is how God is merciful.

Day 2 – Read Ephesians 2:4Write it out. Memorize this verse today.

Day 3 – Read Romans 6:23A wage is something you deserve.

What do we deserve?

What did Jesus do for you on the cross?
Did Jesus do anything wrong?
Did He deserve to die or did you? How did God show you mercy?

Day 4Imagine you were on trial for a law that you had broken. You are standing before the judge, who is about to give you the sentence you deserve, and someone walks in and says “WAIT! I will go to jail for you.”  This person has done nothing wrong. You are the one who deserves the punishment. This is what Jesus did for you. God’s mercy is seen in Jesus taking the punishment for your sin so you don’t have to die and live apart from God forever.

Day 5

If God is merciful, then we should be merciful. How can you be merciful today?

DIG DEEPER

Read Luke 10:30-37
You can’t be merciful unless you have compassion for people. Compassion means you care for someone enough to help them in some way. God has more compassion for us than we can ever imagine. The Bible tells us a true story about a man who had compassion for another person. Read about the good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-37. If you want to be merciful, then you have to care for others. How does this story challenge you to care for others in need?
