Day 1- DON’T LOVE THE BENJAMINS
Read 1 Timothy 6:9-11
Money isn’t bad; it is the love of money that is destructive.
How can loving money keep you from following God?
Day 2- PASS IT ON
Read 2 Timothy 2:1-2
What does Paul challenge Timothy to do?
How can you apply this to your life?
The Bible says that the word of the Lord and the souls of men are the only two things that will last on the earth. Money and all it can buy cannot go with you when you die. It stays on earth and gets old or passed on to somebody else. Money is not the enemy. There are many followers of Christ who have money and are faithful to use it for His purpose. The love of money is what is evil. If you love money, you probably won’t love God. Obviously, you need money to live, but always remember that God is more valuable than the largest amount of money you can think of because He lasts forever.
Day 3- GOD’S BREATH
Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Whose breath is scripture? What is scripture useful for in your life?
DIG DEEPER
While Jesus was alive on earth, He took three of His disciples and “transfigured” Himself. Transfigured is a fancy work for “change form.” Once you understand what Jesus is doing it makes more sense. His disciples had come to love being with Him. When Jesus told them He would leave and come back, they were upset that He had to leave. Jesus lived life as an ordinary human who did everything humans have to do. To help His disciples understand what He would look like when He returned, He had to show them. Read Matthew 17:1-9. Can you imagine seeing Jesus like this? Guess what? You can some day!
Day 4- RESPECT YOUR AUTHORITY
Read Titus 3:1-2
What are you supposed to do, according to verse 1? How can you do this today? What are you supposed to do, according to verse 2? How can you do this today?
Day 5- HE’S COMING BACK
Read 1 Thessalonians 5:1-10
Write down what you learn about Jesus’ return.
According to verse 9, what do followers of Christ get to avoid?
