Day 1- ABSOLUTE TRUTH

Let’s take a moment to get some definitions straight.
Fact: an observation; something that is clear, certain and can be observed and tested.
Hypothesis: A guess, based on no evidence, concerning the explanation of an observation. A hypothesis is usually a scientist’s starting point of research.
Theory: An explanation of an observation based on supporting evidence. The evidence may not be enough to confirm it as truth, but it is motivation to keep moving forward in research.
Absolute truth is an inflexible reality with fixed unalterable facts. The scientific community calls this a “law”. For example the “law of gravity” is considered an inflexible reality with fixed unalterable facts.
What is the point of all of this? It is important for you to understand all of mankind’s attempts to explain the origin of the universe and mankind are theories.  While man may have found evidence to support research, there is not enough evidence to confirm anything to be absolute truth.  Albert Einstein said “No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right, a single experiment can prove me wrong.” In other words, you can have many elements of supporting evidence but still no proof. On the other hand, you only need one piece of contradictory evidence to realize your theory is wrong. This contradictory evidence makes the theories reality flexible and alterable and therefore nullifies it as truth. Schools have made the mistake of teaching these “theories” as absolute truth.
The Bible is the only explanation of creation that claims to be absolute truth. Throughout history, man’s theories of the origin of the universe, creation of the earth and mankind have been ever changing. These theories have been tested and still remain theories because there is a lack of evidence and contradictory evidence. The Bible, on the other hand, has stood the test of time. It has never wavered and consequently, while many have personally chosen not to believe it to be truth, has never been proven to be wrong.

This week you will study how to have confidence in what God says about creation.

Day 2- HOW OLD IS THE EARTH?

The Bible uses the timeline of what God gives in His Word to explain how old the earth is. If you read the Bible from cover to cover and map out the timelines it gives for historical events, it presents a case for the earth only being 6,000 years old.
Read Psalm 19:1. What declares God’s glory?
Since the Bible says the things in the sky declare the glory of God, then let’s look to a few things there to help prove creation.
Here is some scientific proof to support a young earth:

The shrinking sun: Fifty years of photographic study by the U.S. Naval Observatory, the Harvard Smithsonian High Altitude Observatory, and the Royal Greenwich Observatory, has shown that the sun shrinks about 6 feet an hour. Going back in time, in a hundred thousand years the sun would have been twice as large. Two hundred and ten million years ago the earth and sun would have been touching. Evolution on the earth would have been impossible with temperatures on the earth thousands of times hotter than the temperature is today. (Scientific American, V. 239, No. 3, 1978).
Physicist, said, “If we went back in time 10,000 years, the earth would have a magnetic field as strong as a star. That would limit the age of the earth to a maximum of 10,000 years” (“The Earth A Young Planet” w/William JJ. Glashouwer and Paul S. Taylor).
The dust on the moon: When Apollo 11 sent the first satellite to the moon in 1969, our government spent $1,000,000 to prepare for the belief that the moon was billions of years old, and, therefore, would be covered with very deep layers of moon dust. Some scientists in NASA believed that the landing module would literally disappear out of sight in the dust on the moon. The creationists, believing in a very young earth, believed there would be very little dust on the moon. Indeed, when the landing module landed on the moon, the dust was only a few inches deep, proving a very young universe. Day 3- WHAT ABOUT DINOSAURS

For years, men have tried to figure out when dinosaurs lived. The fact is they lived. Tens of thousands of full fossils of different species of dinosaurs all over the earth have been found. Fossils are the only clue we have to what and who they were. The questions is, when were they on the earth and why did they go away?
Evolutionists have suggested that comets hitting the earth have something to do with the dinosaurs becoming extinct. They have two theories. Either the dust covered the sun or the comet broke up into a million pieces and killed the dinosaurs. This is good only if nothing else lived on the earth at that time because they would have no way of explaining how humans and other animals survived. This is why evolutionists put dinosaurs living 60 million years before humans. The Bible actually mentions what most people think is a dinosaur. The book of Job is placed in the middle of the Old Testament, but chronologically actually fits somewhere between Chapter 3-5 of Genesis. This would be BEFORE the flood.
Read Job 40:15-19. How is the behemoth described?
There is no known animal alive today that can fit the description of the behemoth described in the Bible. For example, we don’t have an animal that has a tail the size of a tree but the description matches almost exactly what we know of a Brontosaurus Rex. Look one up and then re-read the description again.
Re- Read verse 15 again. What does God say about when the behemoth was made?
The Bible puts dinosaurs as God’s creation in the beginning and their disappearance would be logical due to the flood. Here is some evidence that supports the flood theory.
All fossils are found fossilized in the strata of mud, earth and sand. Scientists have described them as “buried instantly.” The most logical explanation of this burial is a worldwide flood. There are cave dwellings found that have drawings, by humans, of dinosaurs. Some of the dinosaurs had humans hunting dinosaurs.
The flood explains the when. It does not explain the “why”. Who knows, maybe they helped the ecosystem as man populated the earth. Maybe they just simply couldn’t fit on the ark. We have an eternity to get the answer from God!

Day 4- THE FLOOD

Take notes and read it as a whole. If you are going to defend the flood, you need to know what happened.

Day 5- WHERE DID THE FLOOD WATER GO?

Here are the facts about the flood the Bible tells us.
The worldwide flood of Noah lasted for 1 year.
Read Genesis 7:12. How long did it rain?
Read Gen 7:24. How long did the waters prevail and begin to recede?
Read Genesis 7:11 & Genesis 8:13. How long did it take for the earth to dry up?
Read Genesis 7:19 –23
According to this verse was it a worldwide flood?
How much higher was the water than the mountains?
Besides the ones on the ark, how many creatures died?
Read Psalms 104:5-8
What does God tell you about the water? How did the water go away?
Will it happen again?
The Lord made the mountains higher and the valleys lower. That is God’s explanation for the water subsiding. This gives great explanation to why things such as the Grand Canyon and Petra (in Jordan) exist. This explains our lofty mountain ranges and lakes and sea waters. God made the sea water and lakes in the beginning (Genesis 1) but He reset those boundaries and there will never be a world wide flood again.
