Matthew 5: 27-29
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”
Matthew 6: 22 & 23
“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness.”
It has been said, “The eye is the window to the soul.” What do these two passages tell you about your ability to corrupt or clean up your mind by closely controlling with what you look at with your eyes?
It tells us that we must guard our eyes, because what we watch is directly correlated to how we think and act (Great time to discuss standards for media).
