Mark 15:12-15
Answering again, Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?” 13 They shouted [c]back, “Crucify Him!” 14 But Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify Him!” 15 Wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified.”
1 Peter 2:24b
“By His wounds yours have been healed.”
If the afflictions of the heart that you have received were healed by Jesus’ wounds what does His scourging say to you about His love?
Jesus died one of the most painful deaths imaginable, because He loved us and wanted us to go free. This means that his love for us was so great that He is literally willing to do anything to release us from bondage.
