Day 1- GOD IS PURE
God sets the standard for purity.
Read these verses and write down what you learn about God being pure.
1 John 3:3, Proverbs 30:5, 1 John 1:5, Psalm 18:30
Do you believe God is pure? What are some ways you believe this?
Day 2- JESUS IS PURE
Jesus is God, so He is pure. He set the human standard for purity, living without sin.
Read these verses and write down what you learn about Jesus’ purity.
1 Peter 2:2, 1 Peter 1:19, 1 John 3:5, James 1:13, John 10:30
Being human, Jesus had the opportunity to sin and didn’t do it. Now you have a concrete, flesh and bones example of what it looks like to choose purity and live it out.
Are you thankful Jesus was without contamination?
DIG DEEPER
If you want to see what it looks like to be without sin, read about Jesus’ temptation in Matthew 4:1-11. This is where the Bible shows you purity in action. Jesus was 100% confident in God, and it shows in these verses.
Day 3- ADAM AND EVE CHOSE IMPURITY
Read Genesis Chapter 3
What was Eve’s sin? God told Adam about the tree. What should he have done?
Did Adam sin, too? In verse 7, what did Adam and Eve do?
Did covering themselves up and hiding from God work?
What were the consequences of their sin in verse 23-24?
Day 4- CONSEQUENCE OF IMPURITY
Romans 6:23, Proverbs 14:12, Isaiah 59:2
Read 2 Thessalonians 1:9
What is the eternal consequence of a chosen life of impurity?
Purity cannot mix with impurity or purity becomes impure. God kicked Adam and Eve out of the garden to protect His purity. For the same reason, He can have nothing to do with your impurity. The good news is that He loves you and wants you to walk with Him, so He sent Jesus to die for your sins.
Day 5- ALL MEN ARE LIKE ADAM AND EVE
Have you ever been frustrated with Adam and Eve for messing things up so badly?
Here is the bleak reality… you would have done the same thing.
Read Romans 5:12
Because Adam sinned, what does that mean for you and everyone else?
Read Romans 3:23 and memorize it. Does everyone sin?
