Paul is on a Mission

Day 1- SAUL TO PAUL

Read Acts 8:1-2, 9:1-22, 13:9
What was Saul doing before Jesus showed Himself to Saul on the road?
What happened to Saul? What was Saul also called?

Day 2- ROAD TRIP

Read Acts 17:16-34
What did Paul do when he would get to a city? What was his #1 goal?
What do you learn about Jesus here?

Day 3- ULTIMATE BODY GUARD

Read Acts18:1-9
Where was Paul preaching the gospel?
What happened while he was there?
How did the Lord encourage him?

The sad thing is that evil continues today, just in different ways. There are billions of dollars made every day on inappropriate websites. There are millions of readers of magazines that promote gossip and lies.  The goal behind most of these is money. That was the problem with the silversmith in Paul’s time. Paul was preaching that God was the one and only, which hurt the silversmith’s idol selling business. Because this caused him to lose money, the silversmith tried to stop Paul from preaching.  The lesson here is that there are many things in the world that seem to be against Christians because people are focused on themselves and consumed with personal gain. Don’t let it discourage you. Use Paul’s example of dependence on God to encourage you!

Day 4- THE BUSINESS OF EVIL

Read Acts 19
In verse 19, what happened when people believed in Jesus? What were they giving up?
Why was the silversmith mad?
People make money off evil things, and it can cause them not to follow Jesus and maybe even threaten those who follow Jesus.
Can you think of an example of people who do this today?

Day 5- GOING HOME AND NOT WELCOME

Read Acts 21:27 – 22:29
Paul lived in Jerusalem before he followed Christ. What was his return home like?
Could you imagine if this happened in your hometown?
It is much easier to live for Christ in America than it was for Jesus’ disciples back then.
Take some time today to be thankful that you are free to share your faith.
