Opportunity For Purity

Day 1- JESUS’ DEATH

Do you realize what Jesus did on that cross? Jesus did absolutely nothing wrong, assumed the penalty for every sin ever committed, including yours, and died for you.
Read 2 Corinthians 5:21
Memorize this verse today.
Thank Jesus for going to the cross.

Day 2- JESUS’ RESURRECTION

Write down all you learn about Jesus’ resurrection.
John 11:25, 1 Peter 1:3-4, Romans 8:37-39
If all Jesus did was die, you would never have known if what He promised was true. If He would have stayed in the grave, you still would have reason to question God. If Jesus stayed dead, then He would be like everyone else. Through the resurrection, Jesus proved once and for all that He has power over death. His death gives you purity, but His resurrection gives you eternity.

Day 3- FORGIVENESS

Write down all you learn about the forgiveness Jesus gives.
Psalm 103:12, Hebrews 10:17, Romans 8:37-39, Isaiah 1:18
Jesus’ forgiveness has already been given to you; you just need to receive it. It is like the gift, under the Christmas tree, waiting for you to open. Recognize your sin, confess it to God, and that gift will be opened. Even though you might make mistakes in life, if you believe in Christ, you are made pure… your sins are as white as snow.

Day 4- SIN HARMS OTHERS

Malachi 3:3 “… He will sit as a smelter and refiner of silver…”
When a silversmith takes raw silver to make jewelry, he has to refine it to remove the imperfections and make it pure silver. To refine it, the silversmith puts the raw silver in a fire. He will pull it out, wipe away the dross (imperfections), and then put it back in the fire. He will do this until the silver is pure. Jesus is your refiner. He paid the price for your sin so that it will no longer count against you. As you follow and believe Him, He will refine you to rid you of your sinful imperfections.
Read 1 Peter 1:6-8
How does the example of the silversmith reflect how Jesus refines you?
How has God used good things and tough things in your life to refine you?
Do you have confidence that God can refine you through anything?

Day 5- FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE

Jesus lived life for 33 years giving you an example of how to live on this earth without sin.
Read Ephesians 5:1-11
What are all the ways you can be an imitator of Christ in these 11 verses?
List them out and set some goals for your life based on what God says here.
