Who was Isaac’s dad? Who was Isaac’s mom?
Who were Isaac’s sons, and who was born first?
What are they known for?

Day 2 – CAN I HAVE SOME SOUP?

Read Genesis 25:19-34
What did Esau give up his inheritance for?
Is it stupid that Esau gave up his inheritance for a temporary thing that only satisfies for a little while?
Your inheritance in Jesus is eternal life. Do you ever push that aside because you want some temporary thing on earth?

Read John 19-20
Abraham didn’t have to sacrifice his son because God provided the lamb. God did sacrifice His own Son.

Day 3 – THE HAIRY MAN… OR IS HE?

Read Genesis 25:19-34
How did Jacob trick his dad?
What happened to the brother’s relationship?

Give it a try!

Jacob asked Esau for forgiveness. If you need to ask for forgiveness or need to forgive someone, pray for God to give you the humility and strength to do it… and then go do it.

Day 4 – THE WRESTLER

Read Genesis 32:22-31
Who wrestles Jacob?
Who won the wrestling match? What was Jacob’s reminder of the wrestling match?
What is the name God gave Jacob?
Israel means “God prevails.” God showed Jacob that He always prevails in a one-on-one match.
God spends the rest of the Bible showing how He prevails in any struggle that comes our way.

Day 5 – IM SORRY

Read Genesis 33:1-10
How did Jacob ask for forgiveness? Did Esau hold a grudge?
How can you learn from Jacob and Esau?

We see examples and pictures of Jesus throughout the Old Testament.
