Good Friends Matter

Day 1- STANDARD OF FRIENDSHIP

Read John 15:12-25
Who is the standard of friendship? What is the definition of friendship?
Good friends are friends who are willing to take the time and make the sacrifice to always encourage you to be better. Good friends value your friendship. Good friends challenge you to be God’s best.

Day 2- GOOD FRIENDS MATTER

Read 1 Corinthians 15:33
What corrupts good character? How can a friend help you make wrong choices?
Read Proverbs 22:24. Make no friend with whom? Why should you not get involved with a friend like this? A good friend will push you towards Christ and you will push them towards Christ. Bad friends will pull you away from Christ as you get entangled in the “snare” of their sin. If you want to live a life of purity, then friends matter.

DIG DEEPER

Read Daniel chapter 3. See how these three friends encouraged each other to do the right thing and then helped each other when life got a little well, fiery.

Day 3- FRIENDS SHARPEN

Read Proverbs 27:17
List some different ways that a friend can sharpen you.
Read Proverbs 11:14. What can friends do for you? What can friends be for you?
What is the benefit of guidance and counsel? Do you have good friends who make you a better person?
Do you have friends who are willing to lock arms with you and walk with Jesus together?

Day 4- FRIENDS ADVISE

Read Proverbs 15:22
When do plans fail? Can you see why a good friend is important?
Do you see that your “plan” to live a pure life needs good advisors?
Who are your good advisors? How are these friends good advisors?

Day 5- ARE YOU A GOOD FRIEND?

Read Hebrews 10:24-25
What are some ways you can be a good friend to your friends?
How can you encourage them to be more like Christ?
