2 Timothy 3:1-7

P’s and Q’s : II Timothy 3:1-7

“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…” (verses 1-4)

  • Which of these acts of ungodly life do you see most often?

  • The phrase “lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” describes the days in which we live well! Partying, trashy TV, movies, music, drugs, alcohol, porn, social media addiction, shopping addiction… the list goes on and on. How do you “love pleasure more than you love God?”

How do you plan to move God to the front of your life, ahead of the things you listed?

“…always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (verse 7)

  • It’s amazing how many ways we “learn” or “wire our brain,” huh? Brains are a lot like computers. They are how they are programmed – nothing more, nothing less. Name the top five ways you “wire your brain” in order of how much time you spend on each, through your eyes or ears (i.e. school, smartphone, etc.).

  • Where do you find “truth”?

Truth comes from Jesus and studying the Bible.

  • How much of your brain is wired with truth?

  • What would you like to do on a daily basis to “come to the knowledge of truth”?
